5 Features in Teams to Turn Passive Participants into Active Engagers

Microsoft Teams has become a go-to platform for virtual meetings and collaboration. To help you make the most out of your Microsoft Teams experience, we've compiled a list of our top five tips and features that can make your meetings more engaging and productive. Say goodbye to mundane meetings and hello to interactive, dynamic sessions with your team.

Meeting Notes

Enhance your Microsoft Teams meetings with collaborative notes! Plan ahead by scheduling your meeting in the Teams Calendar and add agendas, notes, and tasks to stay organised.

During the meeting, use the 'notes' feature to record key points, assign tasks, and enable real-time collaboration from all participants. After the meeting, access and edit notes by selecting the past meeting in your calendar and expanding its details.

With Loop integration, notes can also be shared and edited seamlessly - making teamwork more efficient and connected.

Live Reactions 👏

Encourage active participation in your meetings with live reactions. This feature allows attendees to express their emotions and thoughts using emojis - such as a thumbs up, applause or heart.

Live reactions not only make meetings more fun and interactive, but also provide a way for participants to give instant feedback or show agreement without interrupting the speaker. This can be particularly helpful during large meetings where verbal communication might be limited.

Presenter Mode

Presenter mode in Microsoft Teams takes your presentation skills to the next level by offering dynamic layouts that enhance audience engagement. With options such as Standout, Reporter, and Side-by-Side, you can personalise how your video feed appears alongside the content you're sharing.

This feature allows a professional and polished delivery, keeping your audience focused and connected to your message throughout the meeting.

Meeting Recap

Available with Microsoft Teams Premium or Microsoft Copilot, you'll never miss any important information discussed during a meeting! After a meeting concludes, you can find a recap that includes meeting recordings, transcripts and shared files.

This valuable resource allows attendees to review the key points and catch up on anything they might have missed. Additionally, it serves as an excellent reference for those who couldn't attend the meeting.

Mesh Virtual Reality

For casual get-togethers, Mesh for Microsoft Teams introduces a new level of engagement by incorporating virtual and mixed reality into your meetings. This feature enables participants to connect in immersive 3D environments, making remote collaboration feel closer to an in-person experience. Whether you're brainstorming ideas, conducting a training session, or hosting a team-building activity, Mesh offers customisable spaces where avatars can interact in real-time.

This not only enhances creativity and connection but also provides a fresh way to reimagine teamwork in digital workspaces.
